Leadership Giving provides support in addition to annual gifts.
The purpose of the Leadership Giving Society is to increase philanthropic donations of $25,000 or higher toward NIU Athletics to help support operational needs and capital projects. These donations allow NIU Athletics to maintain its success as a top Mid-American Conference member and future Mountain West member.

In addition to football's transition to the Mountain West. All other sports, excluding wrestling and gymnastics, will join the Horizon League beginning in 2026-27. This move marks another step in NIU Athletics ongoing effort to ensure sustainability in in today's college athletics landscape.

1899 Club
The 1899 Club, an approximately $4 million multi-use facility is the next step in fulfilling NIUs Athletics commitment to providing enhanced nutritional services for Huskie student-athletes. The 1899 Club will provide training table meals for the NIU football, volleyball and basketball teams and will expand to additional programs. This multi-purpose facility will also house our academic support services and be used for engagement opportunities.
