Q. Why should I give?

NIU has been enjoying great national exposure due to the hard work and dedication of each student-athlete, coach and staff member. Every gift makes an impact on the success and growth of NIU Athletics and the university as a whole. Annual gifts help to meet the funding challenge to maintain the tradition and excellence at NIU.

Q. Do I have to be an alumnus of NIU to be a member of the Huskie Athletic Fund

Q. When is my Huskie Athletic Fund contribution due each year?

In order to receive football ticket, parking and hospitality benefits, you must make your pledge by June 1st and the full payment must be made by June 30th.

  • June 1st: Football Season Ticket Renewal
  • June 30th: HAF Benefit Deadline
  • September 3rd: Football Home Opener, NIU vs. Eastern Illinois - GO HUSKIES!

In order to receive tax benefits for the calendar year all contributions must be made by Dec. 31.

Q. Is my donation tax-deductible?

All contributions to NIU Athletics are considered gifts to NIU (except premium seat payments - see premium seat question) and are credited at full value for purposes of the donor's gift record at the NIU Foundation. Individuals who make a contribution to Athletics will be issued a tax receipt from the NIU Foundation.

Q. What are Premium Seat Payments & are they tax deductible?

After careful review, we have decided to align ourselves more closely with the majority of athletic departments around the country. This change will allow us to be more efficient with our membership renewal process, and clearly define what is a gift, and what is a ticket purchase. Moving forward, premium seat payments will be called Per Seat License or PSL for short. By separating the price of a premium ticket into both a ticket cost, and a PSL, it will allow us to track and award priority points directly correlated to your PSL. You will be awarded 1 point per every $100 of PSL payments. Perhaps more importantly you will be able to transact all your ticket related business online and in one location. As renewals roll out, you will be able to renew your season tickets along with your PSL at one-time through the ticket office via your (MyHuskies) account.

Q. How can I get the best seats for NIU Football and Basketball?

Members of the Huskie Athletic Fund receive first priority for football and basketball premium seating. All ticket requests, including football road and postseason games, are determined by the benefit allocation process. The benefit allocation process is first determined by Annual Giving Level and then Priority Points within each Annual Giving Level.

Q. How do I improve my seat & parking location?

Please request new or upgraded seats and parking on your donor renewal form or by calling (815) 753-1923. After the deadline we will review all seat and parking requests and allocate based on current donor level first and then by priority points within each level.

Q. Why do I need to make two separate payments for my season tickets and for my donations?

To ensure minimum confusion between donations (including Premium Seat Payments) and ticket purchases, we ask that two separate checks be made for each payment in order to create a more simplified process.
