HEAD COACH ADRIAN MYERS

“As a new member of the Huskie family, I could not be more excited and proud to be a part of this community. I grew up with NIU in my backyard and it has been a dream come true to return home. It is refreshing and motivating as a coach to be surrounded by such dedicated young women. Your support makes a difference – thank you! ”

TOP PRIORITIES

  1. Cost of Attendance - Through NCAA legislation, institutions can now include funds towards covering the cost of attendance gap for student-athletes on an athletic scholarship. The Cost of Attendance gap is provided to cover a student-athlete’s additional reasonable expenses related to attending college, such as transportation, technology, clothing, laundry, and personal items. NIU Athletics is committed to funding Cost of Attendance for all student-athletes, providing a student-athlete experience that is second to none.

  2. Team Gear and Training Equipment - Our cross country student-athletes train outdoors and use state-of-the-art equipment and gear, specifically special shoes, to perform at the highest level possible. Many times, student-athletes who compete in multiple events use various types of shoes unique to their events.

  3. Travel to Off Campus Training Sites - Much of our training takes place off campus on soft-surface trails and various courses. Traveling to and from training at many of these sites requires additional resources so that our student-athletes can replicate race-day conditions during their training runs.

  4. Scheduling Enhancements - In order to stay competitive not only within the MAC but also nationally, NIU cross country seeks scheduling opportunities in warmer climates against highly competitive teams. Additionally, during the early portion of the track & field season, our team looks to schedule more distance-focuses events so our student-athletes who compete in both cross country and track & field will be prepared for each season.

  5. Please fill in the box for special gift instructions under the Gift Info section on the giving page to designate the gift to a specific project.
