HEAD COACH MIKE KUNIGONIS

“Not every institution is as dedicated to preserving the student-athlete experience like NIU. In this ever-changing world of intercollegiate athletics, it is critical to stay true to your values and support student-athlete well-being. Both our staff and student-athletes are grateful for the support we receive from the administration, faculty, staff, fans and community to continue to uphold these values and perform at the highest level. Your support makes a difference – thank you! ”

TOP PRIORITIES

  1. Cost of Attendance - Through NCAA legislation, institutions can now include funds towards covering the cost of attendance gap for student-athletes on an athletic scholarship. The Cost of Attendance gap is provided to cover a student-athlete’s additional reasonable expenses related to attending college, such as transportation, technology, clothing, laundry, and personal items. NIU Athletics is committed to funding Cost of Attendance for all student-athletes, providing a student-athlete experience that is second to none.

  2. Annual Training Trip to Camelback Ranch in Arizona - Each season, we start the season playing at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, home of Spring Training games for the Chicago White Sox, providing a unique opportunity for our student-athletes.

  3. Locker Room Amenities - Improvements to the locker room, such as chairs for each player to use, increased locker space and other enhancements, will provide an adequate atmosphere for the team to prepare for competition.

  4. Updated Uniforms & Training Equipment - Playing in more than 60 games per season, it is imperative that we upkeep our team uniforms and training equipment in order to sustain their condition over the course of an entire season.

  5. Please fill in the box for special gift instructions under the Gift Info section on the giving page to designate the gift to a specific project.
